From being an avid record collector and making tapes for school friends, Cliff Townley soon realised being a DJ was going to be his biggest hobby yet and one that would turn into a career he loves. He started playing in 1997, spending hours locked in his bedroom learning the lost art of beat matching on vinyl to UK Garage, and his first break came a year later on Pirate Radio in London on 'Supreme FM'. He later moved onto So Solid's Station Delight 103fm where he held the Friday Drivetime slot for close to three years under the name of DJ Wiseguy.
This led to playing at many club nights around the UK including Garage Nation, many Delight FM events, Guest spots on pirate radio and a guest spot on London's Choice FM. He was developing his skills, and not long after, was taking them abroad to Germany, Sweden, Aiya Napa, Faliraki and Malia to name a few.
In 2000, whilst all this was happening, Cliff was offered a work placement at the famous Media Records UK, with such labels as Nukleuz and BXR (both hard dance labels), and he also got into production working on Joy Kitikonti's Energize (Wizeguys Mix).
Working all day with house music, and playing radio and events with UK Garage, Hip Hop, and RnB, Cliff soon found a love in music that he still sticks by today. 'If it's got a groove, I'll play it!'
Making the move to Abu Dhabi in 2004, Cliff Townley is one of Abu Dhabi's longest serving DJ's. With a great passion for music, you can find Cliff playing and organising some of the Biggest parties in the UAE including BIG RNB, Ministry Of Sound, Hed Kandi, Defected, Space Ibiza, Strictly Rhythm, TwiceAsNice & Guilty Pleasures. Cliff has also played regularly in Dubai and has played Guest Spots at Sundance at the Atlantis and Barasti. He also co-hosted 'The Flow' on Dubai's channel 4fm
You will find him playing anything from RnB and Hip Hop, Afro beats to funky house, soul & funk and everything in between on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights at Rush Nightclub and every Friday after brunch at the Pool Bar at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers!
Cliff is also the General Manager of Rush Nightclub on Yas Island.
